Maasik-KAHN

ARNE MAASIK
“KAHN. MAGNUM OPUS”

31.05-20.09.2017 Eesti Arhitektuurimuuseum

Jaanuaris 2017 reisis fotograaf Arne Maasik Bangladeshi ja Indiasse, et pildistada Eestis sündinud USA arhitekti Louis Kahni (1901–1974) teoseid. Kahni peetakse arhitektina müstikuks, kelle visuaalse mõtlemise vastu on huvi olnud läbi kogu 21. sajandi alguse. Siinne näitus on osa laiemast protsessist, kus uurimistöö raames esitatakse küsimusi Kahni arhitektuuri ja Kuressaare lossi seostest.

You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition “Kahn. Magnum Opus” at the Museum of Estonian Architecture!

In January of 2017, the photographer Arne Maasik travelled to Balngladesh and India to photograph the architectural projects of Louis Kahn, an American architect born in Estonia. As an architect Kahn is considered to be a mystic and interest in his visual thinking has been intensive throughout the early 21st century. This exhibition is part of a broader research process, in the course of which questions are being posed about the connections between Kahn’s architecture and the Kuressaare Castle.
