9.-10. märtsini toimuv ARSi Filmifestival AFF 2018 esitleb enam kui kolmekümne Eesti nüüdiskunstniku video- ja filmiloomingut, Soome interdistsiplinaarse kunstnike-ühenduse MUU videoloomingu sarja „The Performance Voyage 7“, mis sisaldab kaheksateistkümne kunstniku ja kunstnikerühmituse teoseid ja valikut Eesti Kunstiakadeemia fotokunsti osakonna tudengite teostest.

„Kui esimene AFF keskendus ARSis resideeruvate nüüdiskunstnike videoloomingu esitamisele, siis käesolev festival tutvustab ka väljaspool ARSi tegutsevate kunstnike filmi- ja videoloomingut,” kirjeldab AFFi peakorraldaja Indrek Köster festivali sisu. „Hea meel on näidata nii kunstnike värskelt valminud filme kui ka aastatetagust loomingut, mis annab omamoodi sissevaate kunstnikufilmi kui žanri arengule,“ lisas ta.

The Performance Voyage on iga-aastane rahvusvaheline videoperformance’ite sari, mida korraldab Soome interdistiplinaarsete kunstnike ühendus MUU alates 2011. aastast ja mille linastused toimuvad aasta jooksul eri riikides. Käesoleval aastal esitatakse eri riikidest (Soome, Lõuna-Aafrika, Itaalia, Peruu, Poola, Rootsi, Saksamaa, Šveits ja Venemaa) pärit 18 kunstniku ja kunstnikurühmituse videotöid. Osalevad kunstnikud: Kuesti Fraun, Kim Dotty Hachmann & Steffi Simmen, Sasha Huber & Petri Saarikko, Heidi Kilpeläinen, Francois Knoetze, Timo Kokko, Paweł Korbus, Vik Laschenov, Elin Magnusson, Elena Mazzi, Iwona Ogrodzka, Ignacio Pérez Pérez, Arja Renell, Kikka Rytkönen, Julia Schicker, Jukka Silokunnas, Niko Skorpio ja Elizabeth Wurst.

ARS FILM FESTIVAL – AFF 2018

March 9-10 in ARS Project Space, Pärnu Road 154

ARS film festival AFF 2018 takes place in March 9-10, 2018 where the video and film works by more than 30 Estonian contemporary artists will be screened. Also, there will be screenings of the series of video works “Performance Voyage 7” by Finnish interdisciplinary artists’ union MUU, including the works by 18 artists and artist groupings; as well as of the selection of student works from the department of photography at the Estonian Academy of Arts.

“If the first AFF was focused on screening the video works by the artists residing in ARS, then this time the festival will introduce the works by artists outside ARS as well,” comments Indrek Köster, the main organizer of AFF, on the programme of the festival. He continues: “We are pleased to present both recently completed films as well as the works created years ago, this providing the audience with an introspection to the development of the artist film as a genre.”

AFF takes place on Friday, March 9th from 6pm – 10.30pm and on Saturday, March 10th from 5pm – 10pm in ARS Project Space on Pärnu Road 154, Tallinn. All screenings have free entrance and everyone will be warmly welcome!

The Performance Voyage, series of international video performances created for the camera, has been produced annually by Finnish interdisciplinary artists’ association MUU since 2011. Each Performance Voyage collection is screened around the world for one year in collaboration with local partners. The Performance Voyage 7 collection comprises works by 18 artists and groups from Finland, South Africa, Italy, Peru, Poland, Sweden, Germay, Switzerland and Russia.
